Yet growing pains are not new to the company. In the
late 70's and early 80's during the rise in oil prices, West Texas experienced
unprecedented growth. From a small branch office in Lubbock, Texas, The Hallgren
Company grew through diversification, foresight and innovation. They opened a
successful decorative plumbing and hardware showroom that required the creation
of a new sales division.
In the 90's, with the purchase of Bachman Construction, The Hallgren Company
opened their Architectural Millwork operation in Lubbock, Texas, and then
commemorated their 20th anniversary with the opening of their distribution
center and office complex serving the Dallas-Ft Worth Metropolitan area.
For the Hallgren Company growth took many forms. Separate geographical
locations, additional personnel, increased inventories and management
responsibilities were significant factors built into the Hallgren growth
equation. Although distributors and vendors were firmly established and in
place, the logistics of the new organization pattern came to resemble big
business.
